Kaydon Finley, a four-star recruit and the son of former Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley, committed to playing football at Notre Dame in the class of 2026.
Finley picked Notre Dame over Texas, where his father attended for three years before entering the 2008 NFL draft as a redshirt sophomore. The Packers picked Jermichael with the 91st overall pick in the third round, and he went on to catch 223 passes for 2,785 yards and 20 touchdowns across six NFL seasons in Green Bay.
Kaydon is listed at 6-1 and plays wide receiver. Over his first three varsity seasons, Finley caught 148 passes for 2,552 yards and 34 touchdowns for Aledo High School in Texas. Aledo won the state title with Finley in both 2022 and 2023, and Finley cemented himself as a top recruit by catching 81 passes for 1,432 yards and 21 touchdowns during a dominant junior season in 2024.
Finley will join the sons of former NFL stars Larry Fitzgerald and Thomas Davis as members of Notre Dame’s 2026 incoming class.
Other schools recruiting Finley included Texas, Texas A&M and Arizona State.
In an incredible twist, Finley’s collegiate career will begin with a trip to Lambeau Field to play the Wisconsin Badgers on Sunday, Sept. 6. Notre Dame and Wisconsin are opening the 2026 season in Green Bay.
Jermichael Finley was both a national champion at Texas in 2005 and a Super Bowl champion with the Packers in 2010. He retired after suffering a neck injury in 2013.
