Early signing day live updates

play

It’s early signing day and Florida State football is hoping to add significant reinforcements to its roster as thousands of high school athletes commit to play at the next level.

The Seminoles currently hold 14 commits in its 2025 class, but that number is expected to fluctuate throughout signing day. FSU is working to keep recruits in its class, mainly five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas, while also hoping to flip player’s commitments.

On Tuesday, the Seminoles added two commitments in three-star wide receiver Teriq Mallory and three-star junior college defensive lineman Tyeland Coleman. The pair of commitments is an early sign that FSU is likely going to be active in trying to add talent to its recruiting class on signing day.

Here is a look at FSU’s recruiting class on the first day of the early signing period.

Signed

School: Venice

Vitals: 6-foot / 190 pounds

247Sports composite ranking: 3-star

Buzz: A late addition to the recruiting class, Reus is a talented kicker who has the ability to connect on long-field goals. He will push Jake Wienberg and could see the field as a freshman.

School: Riverwood (Atlanta)

Vitals: 6-foot-5 / 270 pounds

247Sports composite ranking: 3-star

Buzz: Poret had been committed to USF since June, but a late push from the Seminoles did enough to flip the Georgia native to Tallahassee. Likely an interior offensive lineman, Poret visited for the FSU vs. UF game.

School: Cardinal Newman

Vitals: 6-foot-1 / 185 pounds

247Sports composite ranking: 3-star

Buzz: Redmon is the second safety in the Seminoles’ class and he’s a key player for Cardinal Newman. He’s been committed to FSU since the summer and there could be a late surprise on signing day with an SEC and Big 10 program pushing for him.

School: Carrollton, Georiga

Vitals: 6-foot-2 / 175 ponds

247Sports composite ranking: 4-star

Buzz: Initially committed to USC, then Auburn, the Seminoles made an aggressive late push to sign Arnoux and add depth to the secondary. He’s a star player defensively for undefeated Carrollton after transferring to the program for his senior season.

Tyeland Coleman, defensive lineman

School: Northwest Mississippi Community College (Mississippi)

Vitals: 6-foot-3 / 290 pounds

247Sports composite ranking: 3-star

Buzz: Coleman committed just before midnight Tuesday, and he is one of the top available players in the junior college class. He visited FSU for the game vs. Florida and the Seminoles quickly became the favorite following that.

Ethan Pritchard, linebacker

School: Seminole

Vitals: 6-foot-2 / 205 pounds

247Sports composite ranking: 3-star

Buzz: A strong linebacker, Pritchard is the lone commit in his position. FSU needs reinforcements across the board, particularly at linebacker with DJ Lundy and Cam Riley both graduating. Pritchard was the first player to officially sign with the Seminoles on Wednesday.

Committed

Solomon Thomas, offensive lineman

School: Raines

Vitals: 6-foot-4 / 315 pounds

247Sports composite ranking: 5-star

Buzz: Thomas has been committed to the Seminoles for nearly the entire calendar year, however, his commitment status has been in flux since the firing of Alex Atkins. Thomas has been predicted to flip to either LSU or Florida on signing day, so Thomas’s future in Garnet and Gold may be brief.

Kevin Wynn, defensive lineman

School: Greene County (Georgia)

Vitals: 6-foot-2 / 320 pounds

247Sports composite ranking:

Buzz: Another player the Seminoles are working to keep, Wynn has received interest from a couple of SEC programs, including South Carolina and Georgia. A dynamic athlete, he’d be a great addition and could quickly contriube to FSU’s defensive line with the potential of significant change on that front.

Kevin Sperry, quarterback

School: Guyer (Texas)

Vitals: 6-foot-1 / 200 pounds

247Sports composite ranking: 4-star

Buzz: Sperry was a late, unexpected flip at the quarterback position. After losing Tramell Jones to Florida and being unable to convince Bishop Veort quarterback Carter Smith to join the program, FSU landed Sperry out of Texas. He’s a capable runner and a threat for a long gain, while also showcasing a talented arm that can push the ball downfield.

Mario Nash Jr, offensive lineman

School: Kemper County (Mississiipi)

Vitals: 6-foot-4 / 280 pounds

247Sports composite ranking: 4-star

Buzz: Nash committed during the season and has stayed mostly solid with FSU according to reports from recruiting services like 247Sports and On3. He’s a talented offensive lineman, and Nash’s commitment is an important one to keep as the future of Thomas is in flux.

Gregory Xavier Thomas, cornerback

School: American Heritage

Vitals: 6-foot-2 / 190 pounds

247Sports composite ranking: 4-star

Buzz: Thomas is a member of the Seminole tribe and would be the first to play for FSU should he stick with his commitment. One of the top contributors on a stacked American Heritage roster that is set to play in the FHSAA 4A state semifinals.

Chase Loftin, tight end

School: Millard South (Nebraska)

Vitals: 6-foot-6 / 215 pounds

247Sports composite ranking: 4-star

Buzz: Loftin is a tall, physical tight-end who excels as a pass catcher. He is one of the top players in Nebraska and recently won a state championship with Millard South.

Darryll Desir, edge

School: Miami Norland

Vitals: 6-foot-4.5 / 240 pounds

247Sports composite ranking: 3-star

Buzz: One-half of the Desir twins, Darryll is an explosive edge for a Miami Norland. He’s got the measurable to contribute quickly, standing at nearly 6-foot-5. His player profile fits with what new defensive coordinator Tony White likes to run.

Mandrell Desir, edge

School: Miami Norland

Vitals: 6-foot-3.5 / 240 pounds

247Sports composite ranking: 3-star

Buzz: The second half of the Desir twins, Mandrell is an equally explosive edge for Miami Norland. There are a few differences in the play styles of both players, but like his brother, he fits what White is looking for in his defensive personnel.

Jordan Scott, wide receiver

School: Southwest Mississippi Community College (Mississippi)

Vitals: 6-foot-7 / 215 pounds

247Sports composite ranking: 3-star

Buzz: Scott recently committed to the Seminoles after flipping his pledge from Arizona State. Scott visited Tallahassee and quickly made the flip. Standing at 6-foot-7 he is the tallest player in FSU’s class and brings in a height similar to Johnny Wilson.

Teriq Mallory, wide receiver

School: Cheshire Academy (Connecticut)

Vitals: 6-foot-5 / 190 pounds

247Sports composite ranking: 3-star

Buzz: A late flip from West Virginia, Mallory is the second wide receiver in the Seminoles class. Like Scott, Mallory is a tall, lanky receiver, a player profile that has succeeded at FSU in the past.
