National High School Football Hall of Fame moving to Brook Park

The National High School Football Hall of Fame has announced it is moving from Canton to Brook Park.

The organization scheduled a press conference about the move for 4:30 p.m. July 20 at Brook Park City Hall.

Its organizers had previously said they wanted to raise $5M and build a 20,000-square-foot facility at 332 Second St. NW in downtown Canton. More than 100 athletes have been inducted.

According to an announcement on its Facebook page posted on July 19, the High School Football Hall of Fame will announce its move to a 40,000-square-foot facility in Brook Park, the same town where the Cleveland Browns plan to build a new stadium.

“This move isn’t just about geography – it’s about building something new, something bold, and something that stands entirely on its own,” founder LaMont “Showboat” Robinson said in the posted announcement.

“Brook Park showed us that it values the deep roots and powerful legacy of high school football. We didn’t want to live in the shadow of another institution. We wanted a city that believed in our vision – and Brook Park is that city.”

A video on the group’s website highlights the plans for the new facility and its offerings.

The organization inducted its inaugural class in 2023 in Canton.
