PSU Sports
A few years ago, Penn State tweeted out the now infamous graphic showing that the Nittany Lions had had a player in every single Super Bowl every played.
Except for five.
The graphic gained quick notoriety due to how it attempted to hide the fact that a Nittany Lion had only appeared in 50 of the first 55 Super Bowls, by adding the small text at the end.
A plethora of memes ensued, including one claiming that Tom Brady had played in every Super Bowl, except the ones he didn’t. In fact, whenever Penn State achieved —or failed to achieve, virtually anything, someone was quick to point out how the Nittany Lions had achieved every accomplishment in front of them, except the ones they hadn’t.
After so many years of the football program, and those associated with it, being ridiculed for “other” reasons, it was a breath of fresh air to see Penn State football being viewed through the lens of football.
