The United States Men’s National Team step foot on the field tonight at NRG Stadium in Houston to renew their rivalry against Mexico in the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup Final. The USMNT were able to hold off Guatemala in the semifinals, winning 2-1 to book their date with El Tri.
The team that many had written off are still dancing, finding ways to win throughout the tournament and getting some excellent performances at key times. They now go up against a Mexico team that is close to full strength and flying high after a relatively easy path – despite a couple hiccups – through the tournament to the final match.
While the United States are unbeaten in competitive matches against Mexico dating back to 2019, Mexico did beat the USMNT in a friendly in Guadalajara back in October. Because of that friendly, the United States have revenge on their minds and they hope to raise the Gold Cup trophy in the process.
