Park Ridge (Ill.) Maine South 2027 quarterback Jameson Purcell announced his Indiana commitment Monday and spoke to 247Sports about the decision. Co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Chandler Whitmer was a big driver for the Hoosiers, Purcell explained.
“Coach Chandler Whitmer has been my main point of contact,” Purcell said. “We have gotten really close over the past six months, and it was great for him to go over my film and teach me what he learned over the past five years in the NFL. I also like that he tells me what a NFL quarterback does to prepare and how they study film. Coach Whitmer and I talk weekly since January.”
Whitmer and head coach Curt Cignetti employ and style of offense and have had the kind of offensive success that Purcell wants to be a part of.
