8 Fantasy Football Injuries to Know for Your Draft (2025)

As we get to the stretch run of draft season, we need to closely monitor injuries, which can impact the average draft position (ADP) of each player.

Every week, we’ll dive into the latest fantasy football injuries using FantasyPros’ injury tracker to discuss how much this matters for your fantasy teams.

Read on to learn more about injuries to Jauan Jennings, Chris Godwin, and more.

Fantasy Football Injuries to Know for Your Draft

Jauan Jennings (WR – SF)

Jauan Jennings (calf) missed practice on Thursday.

Jauan Jennings still hasn’t returned to practice as he deals with a calf issue. Add in a contract dispute, and it looks like Jennings’ status is in serious doubt for Week 1. This puts Ricky Pearsall in a terrific position to get peppered with targets, at least for the early part of the season. I’d avoid Jennings in drafts unless he fell significantly past ADP.

Chris Godwin (WR – TB)

Chris Godwin (ankle) targeting Week 5 for return.

Chris Godwin is aiming to return to the lineup in Week 5. However, it’s important to note that even when he returns, it’s likely that it will take him a couple of weeks to get back up to speed. Rookie wideout Emeka Egbuka continues to fly up draft boards, and for good reason. Pay the premium on Egbuka, who looks poised to hit the ground running.

DeVonta Smith (WR – PHI)

DeVonta Smith (groin) returned to practice on Wednesday.

DeVonta Smith’s status never appeared to be in doubt for Week 1, but it’s reassuring to see him back at practice. The Eagles’ No. 2 target is one of the most undervalued targets in fantasy football this season. Expect the Eagles to have to pass a bit more this year due to the tougher schedule.

Tyreek Hill (WR – MIA)

Tyreek Hill (oblique) on track for Week 1.

Tyreek Hill is going to be ready for Week 1, but he’s missed a couple of weeks of practice with an oblique injury. This is a wideout that showed serious signs of decline last season. It also doesn’t help that Hill has seemed to fall out of favor in Miami. Add these two factors together, and this is one of my biggest fades this season.

De’Von Achane (RB – MIA)

De’Von Achane (calf) should be good for Week 1.

De’Von Achane is reportedly ready to return for Week 1, despite continuing to miss practice. While others have been scared off by this calf injury, worried that it could lead to an Achilles issue like Christian McCaffrey last season, I’ve been buying the dip. You’re getting a player with overall RB1 upside in the mid-to-late second round. Don’t pass this up.

Darnell Mooney (WR – ATL)

Darnell Mooney (shoulder) returned to practice on Thursday.

One of the most underrated wide receivers in the NFL is back at practice, making it look likely that Week 1 is in play. Darnell Mooney is a great buy late in drafts, as he’s the classic “boring veteran” that your leaguemates tend to avoid. Take him at the end of your draft for a dependable No. 2 wideout to round out your WR room.

A.J. Brown (WR – PHI)

A.J. Brown (hamstring) back at practice on Thursday.

Like teammate DeVonta Smith, A.J. Brown was never a concern to miss time, but it’s comforting that he’s back at practice. This is a high-floor wideout with a high weekly upside, especially if the Eagles pass the ball more this year, which is expected. If you want a safe second-round pick, Brown is your guy.

Jaylen Wright (RB – MIA)

Jaylen Wright (leg) out for several weeks.

Jaylen Wright is going to miss a few weeks of the season after undergoing a procedure to address his leg injury. I already had Ollie Gordon ahead of Wright as the Dolphins RB2, but this injury just cements that status. Draft Gordon as an elite RB handcuff with some standalone value. Don’t be surprised if he takes away goal line carries from De’Von Achane.
