Northern Michigan Football Schedule 2025: Dates, Times And More

The Northern Michigan Wildcats haven’t won a football game since 2022, and the sting of two consecutive winless seasons has to be weighing on them.

What will it take to turn things around? Will one win open the floodgates?

A recruiting class of more than 30 players indicates there’s still a lot of faith in the program, and it would be like a badge of honor to be part of the group that helps turn the tide for a team that hasn’t had a winning season since 2009.

Though they were outscored 451-172 last season, the Wildcats put at least seven points on the board in every game.

Does that mean the defense was the weakness? If so, recruiting 24 offensive players vs. just eight on defense might have missed the mark.

Only time will tell, of course, and we’ll know more Aug. 29 when Northern Michigan opens its season at home against Minnesota State-Moorhead.

The Wildcats will play six games at home at the Superior Dome in Marquette, Michigan, and five games on the road.

In 2024, Northern Michigan finished last in the eight-team Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, going 0-7. Ferris State won the conference title with a 7-0 performance and went on to win the NCAA Division II national championship.
