One of the biggest storylines of the NBA offseason is Giannis Antetokounmpo and his future with the Milwaukee Bucks. There have been trade rumors surrounding the Milwaukee superstar since the season, and those rumors got louder when the Bucks were quickly eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. Giannis’ future is a bit murky, but he has made a couple different comments this offseason suggesting that he will return to the Bucks.
Giannis Antetokounmpo participated in a stream with a popular YouTuber recently, and the two of them talked about his future a little bit. It doesn’t sound like anything is set in stone, but Giannis admitted that he will probably stay put.
“Probably,” Giannis said when he was asked if he was going to stay with the Bucks. “We’ll see. I love Milwaukee.”
This isn’t the first time that Giannis has made comments like this. Earlier in the offseason, he said that he wants to return to the team.
“The Finals are different; I hope to be back soon with the Bucks,” Giannis Antetokounmpo said in an interview with Brazilian outlet Coast to Coast.
The Bucks have already had a big offseason as another factor in the Giannis saga was the injury to Damian Lillard. Well, that isn’t something that is going to affect the Bucks anymore. The Bucks recently moved on from Lillard, and they spent some big bucks on bringing Myles Turner to Milwaukee. This roster is going to look different next season, and if Giannis returns, the duo between him and Turner has the potential to be scary good.
Milwaukee has checked a lot off of its offseason checklist, but the future of Giannis Antetokounmpo is one thing that is still up in the air. Giannis has been in the NBA for 12 years now, and he has spent his entire career with the Bucks. He is supposed to be their franchise star that spends his entire career with the team, but there is a chance that doesn’t happen. It’s clear that he wants to be with the Bucks, but we don’t know if the two parties will be able to work it out.
