NBA fans will get a glimpse of Cooper Flagg’s post-college basketball prowess ahead of his rookie season when the Dallas Mavericks take on the Los Angeles Lakers in Summer League on Thursday night.
After a stellar season at Duke, in which he averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.4 blocks per game, the Mavericks selected Flagg with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. He joins a Dallas team that features Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis following the shocking trade of franchise player Luka Dončić to the Lakers.

Flagg’s strong performance for the Blue Devils earned him national player of the year honors as he helped the Blue Devils to the Final Four, where they lost to Houston.
Flagg’s first Summer League game against the Lakers and Bronny James is unsurprisingly drawing significant interest, including in ticket prices: per Vivid Seats on Wednesday, average prices were up to $223, with a courtside seat running over $3,000.
Since it’s unclear how many Summer League games Flagg will play of the Mavs’ five, fans likely want to catch a glimpse of him while they can.
