Blake Krass makes his MLB fantasy baseball DraftKings Pick6 selections for the Thursday slate.
The 2025 MLB season is heating up. There are far more ways to get involved in the action than just via traditional betting. One of the more unique features on DraftKings this year is Pick6 Fantasy Baseball!
Here are my top Pick6 plays for today’s MLB slate.
Adolis Garcia More Than 0.5 Home Runs
Adolis Garcia has been one of the best power hitters in baseball over the past few seasons. Since bursting onto the season in 2021, he is 16th in the MLB in home runs. He hit a home run in the final game of June, but has yet to hit one in July. This game against the Angels could be the perfect time for Garcia to take one deep. He has crushed Angels starter Jack Kochanowicz in his career. He has two home runs in four career at-bats against Kochanowicz. The Angels’ right-hander has had a tough time this season, sporting a 5.42 ERA heading into this game. He is giving up 1.6 home runs per nine innings this season, and Garcia could be the one to take him deep tonight.

Corbin Carroll More Than 1.5 Total Bases
Corbin Carroll is one of the most exciting young players in the sport. It was just announced that he has made his second career All-Star Game in three years’ playing time. The Diamondbacks have a core of great hitters, and it makes it tough on any pitcher who has to face them. Tonight, that’s Padres right-hander Randy Vasquez. Carroll is 5-for-10 with three doubles in ihs career against Vasquez. Carroll hit a home run in San Diego last night, and should roll that momentum into tonight and record more than 1.5 total bases.

Fernando Tatis Jr. Less Than 7.5 Batter Fantasy Points
Fernando Tatis Jr. has massively struggled against left-handed pitching this season. The Diamondbacks are rolling out left-handed starter Eduardo Rodriguez tonight and it could be a tough night for Tatis. Tatis is an NL All-Star, and has had a great season overall, making his terrible numbers against lefties even more stark in comparison. He has an .878 OPS against righties, compared to a .568 OPS against lefties. Rodriguez has had his own struggles this season, but he has been much better against right-handed batters than lefties. He should keep Tatis contained enough to keep him under this number.

Patrick Corbin More Than 4.5 Strikeouts Thrown
Patrick Corbin is having his best season in years in Texas. Three of the past four years, Corbin has given up more earned runs than any other pitcher in baseball, a truly shocking statistic. He has a 4.18 ERA through 16 starts, which would be his best season since 2019 if he sustains that pace. He is coming off a great start, where he gave up two earned runs over six innings in San Diego. He should have some confidence against this Angels lineup after passing that tough test. The Angels rank 29th in the MLB in batting average against left-handed pitching this season. They have a stikeout percentage of 28 against lefties this season, the worst of any team in baseball. Corbin should be able to pick up at least five strikeouts against them on Thursday night.

Ozzie Albies Less Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Ozzie Albies is having the worst season of his career at the plate. He is slashing .221/.292/.312 with a .604 OPS. If the season ended today, all four of those figures would be the worst of Albies’ career. Albies has a .524 OPS against lefties this season, and should struggle against JP Sears. Sears has dominated Albies in the past, even when he was having better seasons. In his career against Sears, Albies is 0-for-5. Albies has just one extra-base hit in his last 15 games and should get shut down Sears as well tonight.

Trevor Story More Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Trevor Story is starting to heat up for the Red Sox. After the trade of Rafael Devers, it looked like the Red Sox could be headed into tank mode and preparing to sell off more pieces at the deadline. However, Boston has rallied and they are currently tied for the third Wild Card spot in the American League. Story has played a big role in that with his play over the last few weeks. In his last 12 games, he is batting .375 with a 1.129 OPS. Against Taj Bradley, he should be able to rack up more than 1.5 HRR. Over that 12-game stretch, Story has 46 hits + runs + RBIs, an average of nearly four per game. Bradley gives up 8.3 hits per nine innings, and Story should be able to generate some runs against him.
