MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – An Ole Miss football player was killed and four people were injured after a shooting on Saturday night.
The shooting happened before 10:15 p.m. outside a home on Fern Glade Cove.
Deputies say they stopped a car at Forest Hill-Irene and Walnut Grove.
The victim, 18-year-old Corey Adams of New Orleans, Louisiana, was found shot.
They provided life-saving measures until Shelby County Fire arrived.
He was later pronounced dead on the scene.
SCSO also learned that four men arrived by personal vehicles at local hospitals.
All four victims are in non-critical condition, according to SCSO.

The football team at Adams’ former alma mater, Edna Karr High School, released a statement following his death.
Adams was a freshman at Ole Miss and a member of the Ole Miss football team.
The university’s football program released a statement following the death of Adams.
