Jared Goff has been great with the Lions, having three straight top-ten fantasy finishes. However, his offensive coordinator, Ben Johnson, left to become the head coach of the Chicago Bears. How will this impact Goff and the entire Lions offense? What is Jared Goff’s fantasy football outlook in 2025, and should you be looking to target him in your fantasy drafts?
Fantasy Football Outlook for Jared Goff

Ben Johnson took over as the offensive coordinator for the Lions in 2022. Goff’s fantasy finishes in those three years: QB10, QB7, and QB6. He only had one top ten career finish in his previous five years with the Rams and the Lions. Johnson was able to unlock Goff and the Lions offense.
Goff ended 2024 on a hot streak, finishing as a top-eight quarterback in every week from Week 14 through Week 17. That was against four tough defenses as well, in the Packers, Bills, Bears, and 49ers.
Goff had a career-high 72.4 completion percentage last season, while his previous high was 67.3%. He had 4629 passing yards, which was just shy of a career high. He did have a career high of 37 passing touchdowns.

2025 Fantasy Football Outlook

The biggest question surrounding Goff is how well the new offensive coordinator is. They hired John Morton, who was with the Lions in 2022 before becoming the passing game coordinator with the Broncos in 2023 and 2024. He has plenty of experience being involved in the offensive game plan and has experience with Goff.
The Lions kept all of their major playmakers, including Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Sam LaPorta, Jahmyr Gibbs, and David Montgomery. Goff still has all of his weapons to play with.

Goff ADP
According to FantasyPros, Goff is being drafted on average as the QB13. However, his ADP on ESPN compared to Yahoo is the biggest difference among any quarterback right now. On ESPN, he is being drafted as the QB17, while going as the QB9 on Yahoo. As a comparison, most quarterbacks’ ADP are within three spots on the two sites, so the difference of eight is a massive one.
On Yahoo, Goff is going ahead of Justin Fields, Caleb Williams, and Brock Purdy, but is being drafted after them on ESPN. Being able to exploit this difference can lead to a lot of value in fantasy drafts.
Should You Draft or Pass on Jared Goff in Fantasy Football 2025?
Goff has a high floor in fantasy leagues, but not a super high ceiling due to his lack of rushing upside. If you are looking for a quarterback with top-five potential, Goff is not your guy. If you are looking for a quarterback who can be a solid top ten to fifteen guy every week, Goff is your guy.
That being said, in ESPN leagues, I am drafting Goff as his ADP of QB17 is too low. However, in Yahoo leagues, I am passing on Goff as his ADP of QB9 is too high. His average price of QB13 is the correct price for Goff, so I would be looking to take Goff around that spot wherever I am drafting, if possible.
