College football is back, and it didn’t take long for drama to unfold on Thursday.
Friday’s action didn’t disappoint either, as Georgia Tech and Colorado battled late into the night before a clutch Haynes King run sealed the deal for the Yellow Jackets in a 27-20 win in Boulder to kick things off.

King broke off a 45-yard TD run with 1:07 to go to give the Yellow Jackets the lead for good. It was King’s third TD of the night after the Yellow Jackets turned the ball over on each of their first three possessions of the game. The Georgia Tech defense held strong early despite the turnovers, and the Yellow Jackets survived on the road thanks to their quarterback.
The Big 12 suffered another big loss in Waco, as Baylor simply couldn’t stop Auburn’s rushing attack in a 38-24 loss. Quarterback Jackson Arnold led the way for the Tigers with a whopping 137 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
