Mercer County (0-1) opened the 2025 high school football season with a 35-14 loss to Monmouth-Roseville (1-0) at George Pratt Memorial Field Friday. The Titans led 21-0 at halftime and scored the first 28 points of the game. Nick Huston led Monmouth-Roseville with 211 rushing yards and a TD. The Golden Eagles turned the ball over five times in the loss.
Rockridge (1-0) blanked Sherrard (0-1) 45-0 at home in a game that was called late in the third quarter during a lightning delay. Rockridge quarterback Cullen Schwigen accounted for six TDs in the win.
Orion (1-0) kicked off the season by beating Hall (0-1) 40-21 at Charger Field. The Chargers outscored the Red Devils 19-0 in the second half after the game was tied 21-21 at half. Halftime took more than an hour in the game due to a lightning delay.
