Aaron Rodgers, Steelers wear 1933-style throwback uniform Packers in Week 8

The Pittsburgh Steelers will debut new throwback uniforms when they host the Green Bay Packers in primetime in October this season.

The Steelers unveiled the throwback uniform, inspired by the team’s 1933 uniforms, on Monday. The look features yellow helmets, yellow uniforms with black striping, beige pants and yellow socks. The helmets include the Steelers logo on the side, and the uniforms have a City of Pittsburgh crest on the left shoulder.

The Packers face off with Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers on Oct. 26 at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh for Week 8’s “Sunday Night Football” showdown.

Per the Steelers, the throwbacks “define grit, resilience and the soul of the Steel City football.”

From Steelers president Art Rooney II: “We’re excited to unveil our new throwback uniforms which not only pay tribute to the origins of the Steelers franchise but also to the deep connection we have to our hometown of Pittsburgh. It’s especially fitting that we’ll debut these uniforms on Sunday night, October 26 when we play the Green Bay Packers – another franchise in the league with a long and rich history.”

On one hand, the throwback uniforms will add some old-time spice to the first ever matchup between Rodgers and the Packers. On the other hand, the throwbacks will rob viewers of a near-perfect traditional uniform matchup between the Steelers and Packers.

The Packers are expected to reveal a new throwback helmet and/or uniform for the 2025 regular season early on in training camp.
