TALLAHASSEE, Fla. − Alabama football wide receiver Ryan Williams was injured late in the Crimson Tide’s game against Florida State on Saturday after absorbing a hit to the head from a former Alabama player.
UA coach Kalen DeBoer confirmed after the game that Williams sustained a concussion, which means he will enter head-injury protocol for further evaluation. The star sophomore was unable to hang on to a pass over the middle from Ty Simpson with the Crimson Tide trailing 31-17 midway through the fourth quarter. He was hit on the play by two FSU defenders, including former UA defensive back Earl Little Jr. Also in on the play defensively was FSU defensive back Ashlynd Barker.
Williams walked off the field with assistance from trainers and headed to the Alabama locker room.
Williams, who led Alabama in receiving production as a freshman in 2024, caught five passes for 30 yards against the Seminoles.
