Clemson football WR exits with injury vs LSU

(This story was updated to add new information.)

CLEMSON — Clemson football wide receiver Antonio Williams exited the LSU game with a hamstring injury in the first quarter, according to ESPN.

Williams, who led Clemson in receiving yards, receptions and receiving touchdowns (11) in 2024, went to the team’s medical tent on Aug. 30 and then to the locker room. He appeared in two drives for Clemson before exiting.

Williams returned to the sideline without his helmet and used the stationary bike but did not re-enter the game. Tyler Brown, who attended Greenville High School, replaced Williams and had two receptions for 10 yards in his first three offensive series. Cole Turner and Tristan Smith were also featured in place of Williams.

Williams did not miss a game last season after playing in only five games in 2023 because of lower-body injuries.
