Conerly-Goodly Represents SLU on FCS Football Central Preseason All-America Team

HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana defensive back Ian Conerly-Goodly was named to the 2025 FCS Football Central Preseason All-America Team released  Thursday.
 
Conerly-Goodly was a third team selection. The Covington, Louisiana native was one of 13 Southland Conference representatives on the FCS Football Central Preseason All-America Team.
 
Conerly-Goodly is entering his third season with the Lions, returning to the program after transferring to Troy for the 2024 season. He had a breakout season in 2023, earning first team All-SLC and All-Louisiana honors. Conerly-Goodly led SLU with 109 tackles that season – good for second in the league and 14^th in all of FCS.
 
His return bolsters a defense that is led by veteran talent at all three levels. Conerly-Goodly is one of four defensive returners with previous All-Southland recognition, along with defensive lineman and Buck Buchanan Award candidate Kaleb Proctor, linebacker KK Reno and defensive back Khamron Ford.
 
Southeastern reports to campus Monday and will open fall practice Tuesday. SLU opens the 2025 campaign Aug. 30 with a 6:30 p.m. contest at Louisiana Tech. The Lions open their five-game home schedule Sept. 13, hosting Mississippi Valley State at 6 p.m. in Strawberry Stadium.
