Duane “Dog” Chapman’s 13-year-old grandson was allegedly shot and killed by the reality star’s stepson over the weekend, according to multiple reports.
On Sunday, TMZ was the first to report that Gregory Zecca — the son of Chapman’s wife, Francie — fatally shot his son Anthony on accident. The shooting took place Saturday around 8 p.m. at an apartment in Naples, Florida, the outlet said.
“We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony,” Chapman and his wife said in a statement to TMZ.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2021 after both of their spouses died, also asked the public for privacy as they mourn Anthony’s death.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office didn’t immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.
No arrests have been made and authorities are calling it an “isolated incident.” The investigation is ongoing.
Chapman is best known for starring in the reality series “Dog the Bounty Hunter” from 2004 to 2012.
