Ederson‘s eight-year spell at Man City is set to come to an end as he closes in on a move to join Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce.
The Brazilian goalkeeper was left on the bench on Sunday as City were beaten 2-1 by Brighton at the Amex courtesy of a dramatic winner from Brajan Gruda.
Ederson has been consistently linked with a move away from Manchester this summer, with speculation ramping up after Pep Guardiola started summer signing James Trafford for the club’s first three league games.
Galatasaray had initially emerged as a potential destination for the 32-year-old and made an approach last week that was rejected.
However, the club’s bitter rivals Fenerbahce have now hijacked the transfer and have principally agreed a deal worth around £12m to sign Ederson.
The Turkish giants had been interested in a move for City’s current third choice goalkeeper Stefan Ortega earlier this summer.
Daily Mail Sport understands that Ortega has rejected a number of different moves over the summer. And those include offers from promoted Premier League clubs Burnley and Sunderland.

Ederson is set to leave Man City after nearly a decade as he closes in on a move to Fenerbahce

Pep Guardiola’s side have been linked with a move for PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma

However, the Citizens are understood to only be prepared to sanction an exit for Ederson if they can agree a deal with the Italian
Unless something drastic changes before 7pm, Ortega will be remaining with City until January at least. He has only wanted to move if it felt right after the arrival of James Trafford.
Meanwhile City are understood to only be prepared to sanction an exit for Ederson if they can complete a deal for Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Donnarumma bid an emotional farewell to the Ligue 1 champions last week as he appeared on the pitch following their season-opening victory against Angers.
The Italian goalkeeper was instrumental in helping PSG be crowned champions of Europe for the first time last season.
However, Les Parisiens boss Luis Enrique informed Donnarumma this summer that he was surplus to requirements in the French capital following the arrival of Lucas Chevalier from Lille.
Donnarumma joined PSG from boyhood club AC Milan in the summer of 2021 and he has gone on to make more than 160 appearances for the club in all competitions.
