SP Bailey Ober, Minnesota Twins vs. DET ($7,200)
Almost every half-decent Major League player on Minnesota’s roster was shipped off last month at the trade deadline. That doesn’t include Bailey Ober, one of the last quality arms in this Twins rotation. Granted, it hasn’t been the best season for the right-hander. Through 103.0 innings of work, the fifth-year pro has notched a 5.16 ERA and 1.38 WHIP. However, a 4.55 xERA, per Savant, suggests that he’s gotten unlucky.
Last week, Ober tossed six one-run innings against the Royals. He’ll look to continue that momentum tonight against the Tigers. Since July 1st, Detroit has scored the 12th-fewest runs per game in baseball (4.32). Over his last five meetings with the Tigers, Ober owns a 2.56 ERA. As the fifth-cheapest starter available tonight, Minnesota’s underrated arm offers value for fantasy managers.
C/1B David Fry, Cleveland Guardians vs. MIA ($3,000)
The Guardians have propelled themselves into playoff contention. That’s due primarily to their solid group of starting pitchers. However, several unsung heroes have emerged in Cleveland’s lineup. That includes David Fry. The catcher has spent most of 2025 recovering from Tommy John surgery. Therefore, his lackluster .184/.238/.398 slashline this season doesn’t come as a surprise. Still, 43 games isn’t the largest sample size.
Fortunately for the Guardians, Fry has begun to heat up recently. Over his last seven outings, the 29-year-old is hitting .294 with two homers and six RBIs. During that time, he’s averaged a solid 7.13 fantasy points per game. Thursday’s matchup against Marlins hurler Edward Cabrera ($8,700) won’t be easy. Regardless, catcher is arguably the most difficult position to find production in fantasy baseball. Keeping that in mind, Fry is worth taking a flier on tonight.
1B Josh Bell, Washington Nationals vs. PHI ($2,900)
The Nationals are mired at the bottom of the NL East. Still, Washington’s offense has an intriguing mix of talented youngsters and capable veterans. Josh Bell falls into the latter category. The first baseman’s second stint in DC has been decent, albeit unspectacular. Over 104 games, he’s accounted for a .725 OPS with 15 homers and 43 RBIs.
Bell has been playing well, notching a hit in five of his last eight contests. In that time, he’s averaged 8.25 fantasy points per game. Tonight, he’ll take on former teammate Jesus Luzardo ($8,400) and the Phillies. Bell has had plenty of success against the southpaw, going 3-for-9 with two doubles and a homer. At just $2,900, the veteran slugger is a nice pick to fill out your fantasy lineups.
