Football announces home kickoff times



Eastern Washington has five games at Roos Field in the fall


CHENEY, Wash.  — The home times are set for Eastern Washington football as the 2025 season draws closer. Eastern announced the kickoff times for its five home games from Roos Field, as the Big Sky Conference announced times for all conference matchups.


The 2025 season opener against Western Illinois kicks off at 4 p.m. Pacific Time on Sep. 20. The game features the annual Rush Roos for incoming freshmen as part of Welcome Weekend. 



EWU’s Oct. 4 matchup against Portland State has a 4 p.m. kickoff as Eastern celebrates its 102nd Homecoming. 



On Oct. 18, the Eagles renew their rivalry against Idaho at 4 p.m. for the third home game of the season.



Sacramento State travels to Cheney on Nov. 1 for a 1 p.m. kickoff time. 



The 2025 home schedule concludes against Northern Colorado on Nov. 15 and will have a 1 p.m. kickoff. Eastern will celebrate senior day prior to kickoff against the Bears. 



EWU has eight total Big Sky games this season, opening against national runner-up Montana State in Bozeman, Mont. on Sep. 27. 



The 2025 season officially begins against Incarnate Word on Aug. 30 in San Antonio, Texas. 



The Eagles go into the season with Jared Taylor taking over the reins at quarterback. Taylor was second on the team in 2024 with 708 rushing yards, averaging 5.2 yards per carry. He led Eastern with 10 rushing touchdowns, also ranking seventh in the conference and 37th in the FCS. Taylor started against No. 2 Montana State last season, completing 20-of-27(74.1%) passes for 144 yards, and throwing two touchdowns with one interception. 



Eastern’s defense returns two key players on the defensive line with redshirt junior Isaiah Perez and junior Tylin Jackson. Perez, recently earning the
No. 4 Jersey honor, made 10 starts last season, making 19 tackles and recording 1.5 sacks. Jackson also made 10 starts and finished with 24 tackles and one sack. 


DaJean Wells solidifies the secondary after ranking second in the Big Sky and 16th in the nation with 12 pass breakups. Wells was eighth on the team with 32.0 tackles, making 22 solo in 10 starts.
