(Editor’s note: Click here for live updates from Friday’s round.)

It’s the final chance for three golfers not already in the British Open to get into the field for Royal Portrush next week. But for many others, Friday at the Genesis Scottish Open is a day to secure Saturday and Sunday tee times.

The cut won’t officially come after Friday’s second round. With the five-hour time difference between Scotland and the East Coast, the cut should happen around 2 p.m. ET.

What is the cut for the 2025 Genesis Scottish Open?

There was no official projected cut after 18 holes on the PGA Tour website, the cut rule calls for the low 65 and ties to advance. Based on that, the cut would be 1 under.

Using the predictive modeling of Datagolf.com, however, after 18 holes:

  • 1 under has a 16 percent chance
  • 2 under is at just above 40 percent
  • 3 under is 32 percent

The cut in 2024 was 3 under.

Reigning U.S. Open champ J.J. Spaun is a few shots off the projected cut line as of 8:30 a.m. on Friday. He’s at 2 over and the projected cut is 1 under. He’ll need a good number on the second nine (he started on the back today) to make the cut.
