Grand Valley State Dominates Lincoln (PA) 45-9 In Turnover Battle

The aspiring GLIAC and national champions, the Grand Valley State Lakers, kick off their 2025 campaign on Saturday, August 30, by hosting the Lincoln Lions in Allendale, Michigan, and did not disappoint.

The Lakers throttled the Lions 45-9 to show exactly why they’re ranked the No. 3 team in the nation heading into their NCAA Division II schedule. Starting quarterback Andrew Schuster threw for 251 yards and three touchdowns and backup Brady Drogosh ran for one touchdown, while the GVSU defense caught three interceptions.

A lone touchdown for the Lions came in the first quarter, followed up with a field goal in the second, but it was all Lincoln could muster for the entirety of the game. Lions starting quarterback Hamas Duren threw for 180 yards and no touchdowns.

Lincoln put up a good fight through the entirety of the game, but turnovers plagued them enough that there wasn’t much time to recover before GVSU took advantage.
