Is Ange Postecoglou on borrowed time? The Australian has shortened to a 10/1 third-favourite to be the next Premier League manager sacked

Tottenham Hotspur have been one of the most inconsistent sides in the Premier League this season – with the north London club winning six games and losing six to sit tenth in the table.

That level of inconsistency has been on full display in recent weeks – with Spurs dominating Manchester City 4-0 at the Etihad before having to settle for a 1-1 draw against Fulham.

It was Thursday’s performance that was a real cause for concern however, as they fell 1-0 at the hands of then 13th-placed side Bournemouth.

As a result – pressure is mounting on Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou. That is evident in the betting lines, with the Australian shortening to a 10/1 third-favourite with Sky Bet to be the next Premier League manager sacked.

Unfortunately for Postecoglou, it doesn’t get an easier this Sunday as Tottenham take on top four side Chelsea. Should Spurs lose that fixture in disappointing fashion, don’t be surprised if you hear more and more fans calling for the Aussie’s sacking.

You only have to look at the frosty reception Postecoglou received from Tottenham fans pitchside following their loss to Bournemouth to see the level of discontent that is brewing.

Meanwhile, the two managers who are better-backed in the market are West Ham’s Julen Lopetegui and Wolves’ Gary O’Neill at 4/5 and 6/5 respectively.

Sky Bet favourites to be the next Premier League manager sacked:

Julen Lopetegui 4/5

Gary O’Neill 6/5

Ange Postecoglou 10/1

Russell Martin 16/1

Sean Dyche 25/1
