LSU football could enter the race for prized 2027 tight end

Could LSU football be in the mix for a decommitted 2027 tight end? Four-star George Lamons went back on his choice to play at Texas A&M, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.

The Tigers are one of a few suitors in the mix for Lamon’s services. They’re up against the likes of South Carolina, Georgia Tech and Alabama.

Rivals’ Industry Rankings ranks Lamons No. 5 at his position and No. 81 overall in the 2027 cycle. He is the No. 12 prospect out of Georgia. The Quitman, GA native will enter his junior year at Brooks County High School this fall.

If LSU can’t secure a tight end commit in the 2026 cycle, it will need to swing big at the position for 2027. Lamons possesses raw talent that stands out for being so early in his recruiting process. At six-foot-three and 200 pounds, he already commands attention from most SEC teams.
