The University of Michigan Wolverines open their season Saturday night, Aug. 30, and the weather forecast shows clear skies — but with temperatures expected to dip into the 40s at night, you’ll probably want to wear a jacket.

The Wolverines take on the New Mexico Lobos at Michigan Stadium at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Weather for tailgating ahead of the game should be great — mid-70s — but the low Saturday night will be in the upper 40s.

For those preparing to venture to Ann Arbor for the game, here’s the National Weather Service’s forecast:

What will the weather be like for Michigan’s football game?

The day will start out cool after an overnight low Friday night in the upper 40s that may create patchy fog. Then, sunny, clear skies — with a high of 74 degrees — are expected during the day, Aug. 30,.

Once the sun begins to dip, fans may want to wear layers, or pack a jacket or blanket to be comfortable under cooler temperatures and light winds at night, forecast to be around 48 degrees.
