Oregon football’s 2025 season kicks off Aug. 30 at home against against Montana State in a matchup between one of the best teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision and one of the best teams in the Football Championship Subdivision.
The game at Autzen Stadium in Eugene is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
Fourth-year coach Dan Lanning and the No. 7 Ducks will be breaking in 18 new starters on Saturday, including at quarterback, as they attempt to build on last season’s undefeated regular season, Big Ten championship and No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff.
It begins with a game against the Bobcats, who lost in the FCS championship game last season and are ranked No. 2 in the preseason FCS poll.

Moore threw a short pass to Kenyon Sadiq and the tight end muscled his way through a tackle before running into the end zone to put the Ducks up 14-0 with 9:16 to play in the first quarter. The 20-yard pass play was Moore’s first TD throw as a Duck.
Redshirt freshman cornerback Ify Ibidegwu and true freshman cornerback Brandon Finney Jr. started for the Ducks.
Running Jayden Limar scored at the 11:57 mark of the first quarter as Dante Moore and the Ducks capitalized on their opening drive.
The five-star wide receiver got the start for the Ducks, though Moore’s first pass completion went to Gary Bryant Jr.

Montana State won the coin toss and deferred to the second half. The Ducks will start on offense.
The senior defensive back and transfer from Northwestern is dressed in full pads for pregame warmups. Saturday Johnson was listed on the weekly Big Ten injury report as being out for the game. Missing from pregame are inside linebackers Brayden Platt and Dylan Williams, who were listed as questionable on the injury report.
