CANTON ‒ Pat McAfee, one of the biggest personalities on ESPN, will make a trip to the Pro Football Hall of Fame this month.
McAfee, the host of The Pat McAfee Show, will broadcast live from the Hall of Fame on July 31 ahead of this year’s Hall of Fame Game between the Detroit Lions and the Los Angeles Chargers.
“We can’t thank the Hall of Fame enough for the hospitality,” McAfee said July 15 during his show. “We’re going to kick off a new season of the NFL.”
Rich Desrosiers, chief communications and content officer at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, said McAfee and his crew will be set up right on the front steps, and there’s some special guests planned to make an appearance on the broadcast.
“His first guests that day will be the new members of the class of 2025,” he said.
Sterling Sharpe, Eric Allen, Antonio Gates and Jared Allen are being enshrined this year.
Aaron James Hawk, a former NFL linebacker and regular on The Pat McAfee Show, said he’s been to the Canton area before, and he’s looking forward to returning.
“I’ve been to Canton a few times for different lacrosse and old soccer tournaments for my kids, and it’ll be fun to be there,” he said during the show. “The area around the stadium is pretty sweet.”
