Only Western Illinois (+46.5) is a bigger underdog opening weekend than coach Jeff Choate’s Wolfpack coming off a 3-10 season with a fast start at No. 2 Penn State. Nevada has intrigue in its backfield with veteran quarterback Chubby Purdy taking the reins alongside transfer portal arrival Herschel Turner at running back. The Wolfpack will lean on transfers along their O-line and in their defensive backfield to try and field an outfit capable of giving a solid, complete Penn State team a fight.
