Point spread released for Alabama football vs. Louisiana-Monroe

Alabama football is a 38.5-point favorite next Saturday night over Louisiana-Monroe, according to a point spread posted Sunday by Caesars sports book.

Saturday’s game, which is Alabama’s home opener in Bryant-Denny Stadium, kicks off at 6:45 p.m. CT and airs on SEC Network.

Alabama lost its season opener at Florida State while Louisiana-Monroe defeated FCS opponent St. Francis, 29-0, in their opener Thursday.

Louisiana-Monroe is the only non-power conference opponent on Alabama’s schedule this season.

Alabama last played Louisiana-Monroe in 2022 as part of a two-game series the schools scheduled in 2018. The Tide paid $1.915 million for the first game and will pay Louisiana-Monroe another $1.925 million for the 2025 game.

“Alabama just built us a weight room today by playing us,” then-coach Terry Bowden said after ULM’s 63-7 defeat to Alabama in 2022.

ULM, which is now coached by former UAB interim coach Bryant Vincent, famously beat Alabama in Nick Saban’s first season in 2007. But the Warhawks have posted a winning record only once since 1994, which came in 2012, and finished 5-7 last season.
