Rams QB Matthew Stafford won’t practice with teammates to start training camp because of back soreness

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford will be limited for the start of training camp due to back soreness.

Head coach Sean McVay made the announcement from the first day of training camp on Tuesday. He told reporters that Stafford has “back soreness that kind of crept up” in the offseason. Further details of the issue weren’t clear.

Per McVay, Stafford will spend the first five days of training camp working on the side with team trainers and working separately from the Rams offense.

Stafford is 37 years old and approaching his 17th season as an NFL starting quarterback.
