Even though Christmas presents have long been unwrapped in Lubbock, Texas, Red Raider football fans were hoping for one more present this year — a bowl win.
But that wasn’t in the cards. The Red Raiders ended the season on a sour note, falling to the Arkansas Razorbacks 39-26 at the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tennessee.
While there seemed to be some hope for a comeback in the second quarter after the Razorbacks took the early lead in the first, it was not meant to be.
Fans quickly pointed out that Tech was at a disadvantage heading into the game, as Tahj Brooks, Behren Morton and others were absent.
But either way, fans were frustrated with the team that showed up Friday night in Memphis.
On the other hand, some fans are optimistic about what the next season will hold for the program.
Either way, the 2024 season has concluded. However, Red Raiders fans are now turning their gaze to other sports, hoping for a more successful season in 2025.
