Texas Tech sent waves through the recruiting world July 4 when they landed the top offensive tackle in 2026, Felix Ojo. Just a few months later, they reeled in one of the elite offensive tackle prospects in the 2027 class. Fort Gibson (Okla.) High offensive tackle Cooper Hackett committed to the Red Raiders.
The 6-foot-6 1/2, 250-pound Hackett is ranked by 247Sports as the class of 2027’s No. 9 overall prospect, No. 2 offensive tackle and No. 1 overall player in Oklahoma.
It’s been an onslaught in the past few months from Texas Tech and its front office, headed up by general manager James Blanchard. After landing Donovan Webb over Michigan and Ojo over Texas, Ohio State and Florida, the Red Raiders made their move in 2027 getting Hackett, a player ranked in the top 10 nationally.
