COLUMBIA — Though South Carolina football doesn’t kick off until Aug. 31, fans can pass time by playing as the Gamecocks in EA Sports’ “College Football 26”.

The standard version of the game is available as of July 10, but for those who preordered the deluxe edition or bought the MVP bundle with Madden 26, it was available on July 7.

The Gamecocks are rated 82 as a team. Their offense was given a rating of 85 and their defense an 84. South Carolina sits 12th among 16 SEC teams in the game. Alabama is the highest-rated team in the game.

LaNorris Sellers has a 91 overall rating, tied with Miami’s Carson Beck, Oklahoma’s John Mateer, and Arizona’s Sam Leavitt for fourth best among quarterbacks in the game. They all sit behind Penn State’s Drew Allar and Clemson’s Cade Klubnik, who are rated 92 overall.

Sellers, heading into his second season as the star QB for the Gamecocks, has an 89 rating in speed, 82 in strength, 91 in agility (No. 1 among QBs), 92 in change of direction (also No. 1), 90 in injury and 87 in awareness. Injury is how susceptible a player is to injury and how well they can recover (the higher the better).

Edge rusher Dylan Stewart, now a sophomore, is rated 94 overall in the game (highest for South Carolina) and is the highest rated for right edge rushers. He has a 91 rating in speed and agility, 78 in strength, 75 in change of direction, 90 in injury and 85 in awareness.

Wide receiver Nyck Harbor is 82 overall and 99 speed, which is the highest among receivers in terms of speed.

Where Shane Beamer is ranked among coaches in College Football 26

Shane Beamer is a level 58 coach with a B+ coach prestige (reputation and standing in the game). Levels are from 1-100. The B+ is tied with three other coaches in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri for the third-worst in the SEC and his coach level is seventh in the SEC.

The game’s dynasty mode gives him an 88% job security and also states that South Carolina’s goal for this season is nine wins, which it accomplished in the 2024 season.
