CLEVELAND –
Ohio football first-year head coach Brian Smith, graduate student quarterback Parker Navarro (Tempe, Ariz.) and redshirt sophomore safety DJ Walker (Aliquippa, Pa.) are set to represent Ohio at the 2025 Mid-American Conference Football Kickoff on Thursday, July 24. This year’s in-person event will be set at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich., from 9:00 am ET/8:00 am CT to 1:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. CT.
The MAC Football Kickoff will open the 79th season of MAC Football, which officially begins on Thursday, August 28, and will conclude with the 2025 MAC Football Championship Game at Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday, December 6 at Noon ET/11 a.m. CT on ESPN.
MAC Commissioner Dr. Jon Steinbrecher will be joined by the head coaches from each member institution as well as two student-athlete representatives. Steinbrecher will begin the Football Kickoff with his address to the media at 11 am ET. All head coaches and student-athletes will be available to the media throughout the event.
Smith and Navarro will be live on ESPN+ at noon. Walker will join them on Pure Rock 105.5 FM shortly after. Fans can also follow along throughout the day on Ohio football’s social media platforms.
