The award recognized local employers that “excel in creating opportunities for workers”.
TEMPLE, Texas — A Temple business was named as one of Texas’ best employers by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) this year.
Revol Greens, a lettuce greenhouse, was named as a runner-up finalist for the TWC’s Texas’ Small Employer of the Year Award.
Revol Greens was nominated by Workforce Solutions of Central Texas, according to a release, and earned the runner-up spot alongside Zinc Resources LLC, nominated by Workforce Solutions Golden Crescent.
The business that won the top spot was Lil’ Cats Daycare and Lil’ Indians Daycare, a daycare based out of Coleman, Texas that recently expanded to Haskell, Texas after the town lost its only child care facility, according to the TWC.
According to the TWC, the Commission and its local partners recognized employers in Texas that “excel in creating opportunities for workers” during the 27th Annual Texas Workforce Conference in Grapevine in early December.
“Revol Greens partners with Workforce Solutions of Central Texas to tap into diverse talent pools, such as veterans, individuals receiving public assistance and those with limited English-speaking skills,” said the TWC in a release. “With over 80 workers, Revol Greens uses training grants from Workforce Solutions of Central Texas to train and hire skilled workers for its facilities.”
“Texas remains the best place to live and work, with our thriving economy attracting talented workers to meet the needs of employers across the state,” said TWC Commissioner Representing Labor Alberto Treviño III. “Congratulations to these employers for their positive impact, not only on their local communities, but also on the entire state.”
Spare Time, a Temple entertainment center, was also recognized as a local employer of excellence.
