Virginia Tech freshman WR Jayden Anderson enters NCAA transfer portal

Virginia Tech freshman wide receiver Jayden Anderson has entered the NCAA transfer portal, 247Sports has confirmed. Anderson enrolled with the Hokies this summer after signing as part of the program’s 2025 recruiting class.

The Virginia Beach (Va.) Green Run product was a three-star prospect and selected Virginia Tech over offers from Florida, Georgia, Miami, Auburn, Duke and South Carolina, among others. 247Sports ranked him as Virginia’s No. 2 wide receiver.

Anderson was a multiyear captain and two-time state semifinalist at Green Run, where he played alongside current Virginia Tech wide receiver Keylen Adams and fellow 2025 signee Knahlij Harrell. Anderson finished his senior year with 49 catches for 1,286 yards and 20 touchdowns, leading the Hampton Roads region in receiving and helping the Stallions reach the VHSL Class 5 state title game.

In addition to football, Anderson ran track and posted a 6.67-second 55-meter dash time in 2023.

The 5-foot-10, 160-pound receiver becomes the latest summer enrollee to depart before fall camp.

Stay tuned to VTScoop and 247Sports for the latest on Virginia Tech roster moves and transfer portal developments.
