Week 1 of the 2025 college football season concluded Sunday for Southeastern Conference teams.
No. 13 South Carolina defeated Virginia Tech, 24-11, on Sunday in Atlanta, Georgia. No. 18 Tennessee was also victorious in Atlanta during Week 1. The Vols defeated Syracuse, 45-26, on Saturday.
Other SEC teams ranked in the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll to open their season in Week 1 were Texas (1), Georgia (4), Alabama (8), LSU (9), Ole Miss (15), Florida (17) and Texas A&M (21).
LSU won a top 10 matchup at No. 6 Clemson, 17-10, while the Longhorns lost a top-two contest, 14-7, at second-ranked Ohio State.
Alabama also opened its season with a, 31-17, road loss at Florida State.
