Coming off a 1-11 campaign in 2024, the Purdue football team will begin a new season today against Ball State at Ross-Ade Stadium.
Barry Odom takes over as head coach of the Boilermakers after a two-year stint at UNLV where he went 19-8. Odom named Ryan Browne as the team’s starting quarterback against Ball State. Browne started two games for the Boilermakers last season, transferred and studied under Bill Belichick at North Carolina, then returned.
Like Purdue, Ball State also has a first-year head coach in Mike Uremovich. Uremovich, a Purdue graduate, coached three seasons at Butler and compiled a 23-11 record.
