One of the attorneys involved with the lengthy YSL RICO trial and one of its defendants have announced that they’re expecting their first child together.
As reported by 11Alive, criminal defense attorney Kayla Bumpus, who represented multiple people connected to the YSL RICO indictment, has announced that she’s expecting a baby boy with Shannon “Jackson” Stillwell, one of the people who was on trial alongside the likes of Young Thug.
“While our roles were very different, we are thankful that our worlds collided,” the couple said upon confirming the news. Bumpus also shared a few pictures from a maternity photoshoot, seen below, and added, “True Atlanta love story… my baby almost here.” She also encouraged people to check out their registry on Amazon if they want to help the couple as they welcome their first child.
Bumpus represented multiple clients involved in the YSL RICO trial, including Lil Woody. She also represented Deamonte Kendrick’s mother for a since-dismissed drug-smuggling charge. Stillwell, meanwhile, was found not guilty on all but one charge he was facing. He was found not guilty of criminal street gang activity, RICO, and murder, but was sentenced to ten years with only two behind bars. He was credited for time served, though, which means he’ll serve the remainder of the sentence on probation.
The development comes not long after Young Thug felt compelled to respond to an apparent leaked conversation during the trial, in which he appeared to name-drop several people accused of crimes. “They didn’t play my interrogation video in court cause I helped my brada #Ratwhere?” he tweeted.
Peewee Roscoe, who was named by Thug in the leaked audio, also defended Thug. “Jeff clean as Listerine, man. Clean as ivory soap, ya feel me? When you go into the interrogation room, that’s what you do,” he said.
