With conference championships in the books, the postseason is upon us. That means it’s awards season, and the 2024 College Football Awards took place Thursday night.
Some of the most notable honors in the sport came out during the ESPN special, including the Biletnikoff Award and Maxwell Award. It’s all part of a big weekend of awards around the sport, culminating with Saturday’s Heisman Trophy ceremony in New York.
Four finalists will be at the New York Athletic Club for the event. Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter, Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel and Miami quarterback Cam Ward are going to be in attendance. One of them will hoist the trophy, considered the highest honor in college football.
Before that, though, there was more hardware on the line. The best players at nearly every position were declared Thursday night by the National College Football Awards Association and announced on ESPN during the 2024 College Football Awards.

Outland Trophy – Most Outstanding Interior Lineman: Kelvin Banks, OL, Texas
Burlsworth Trophy – Outstanding Player Who Began His Career as a Walk-On: Bryce Boettcher, LB, Oregon
Wuerffel Trophy – Premier Award for Community Service: Nick Dawkins, OL, Penn State
Nagurski Trophy – Best Defensive Player: Kyle Kennard, EDGE, South Carolina
Rimington Trophy – Premier Center: Seth McLaughlin, OL, Ohio State
Jim Thorpe Award – Best Defensive Back: Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas
Biletnikoff Award – Outstanding Receiver: Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado
Home Depot Coach of the Year: Curt Cignetti, Indiana
Ray Guy Award – Best Collegiate Punter: Eddie Czaplicki, P, USC
