CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) -Christmas morning brought droves of bubble tea lovers and baked goods enthusiasts to KoKo Bakery in AsiaTown.
“We are always busy on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day,” said owner John.
“A lot of American people come here that’s why we open.”
The bakery has been open for 20 years and sits in the heart of AsiaTown on Payne Avenue.
More than 50 people came through the bakery in less than an hour.
“The people come here and enjoy the bubble tea and the pastries and the cake also,” explained John.
With a line that seemed to never end, John and his staff worked quickly to refill shelves and make drinks.
All so people like Vladmir Lapin and his two children can enjoy time together as they prepare for the first night of Hanukkah.
“It’s so great to be at home with everybody, but sometimes you need to get out of the house as well,” said Lapin.
KoKo Bakery is just one of a handful of places open on Christmas Day.
As our 19 News crew drove through AsiaTown we saw patrons filing into restaurants to pick up orders and sitting to dine in.
“We’re grateful for all the staff that are here and keeping it open,” said Lapin.
